My name is Kennedy and…

I am a creative to put it simply. This site is both a living portfolio and place where I come to share.

A bit about my back story…

I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1995 and diagnosed with ADHD in 2000. At a time when few tools where available other than managing with medication. With a good support system, using what they knew and had in their tool box, I was able to explore my creative passions and graduate.

Fall of 2013 I moved to Toronto, Ontario to attend Ryerson University (*now Toronto Metropolitan University) for their Fashion Communications Program. Finishing off my Bachelors of Design in 2017, with a minor in Retail & Service management from Ryerson and Minor in Fashion Editorial & Branding from Amsterdam Institute of Fashion. After graduation I remained in Toronto to work.

In the early spring of 2018 I began a new job as an Executive Assistant to a brilliant Architectural Interior Designer and Entrepreneur, where I worked just over a year leaving in the late spring of 2019. Not take take another job, rather a personal sabbatical as the friendly Irish Boarder officer referred to it. Subleased my place and had a roommate lined up to move in with me in the fall for a fresh start. In the meantime I had rough travel arrangements to take a step back and care for my mental health.

Fall 2019 came and I took a part time job at a new restaurant opening up. Having always worked retail when it came to jobs through school, I felt there were some important life lessons to be learned from working in the service industry and there was. Freelancing and working on creative ventures on the side, I was about to transition into working in film as planned until March, 2020 happened. Covid and the pandemic, which dealing with for me meant to be willing to throw away all old ideas of the world and future possibilities to “adjust with the flow” of the many unforeseeable changes to come. After a month of lock-down in Toronto, I moved out for 3-months turned 3+years to Vermilion Bay, Ontario. I put my art on hold and this website until now, 2023.

It seems hard to explain how the past three years has felt like half a life time. That’s what can happen in love, loss and grief. The rest of this story has its own page, in dedication to my loving late partner Mike.
